Santa Barbara Female Entrepreneurs are innovators who actively participate in the creation, operation and management of their businesses. I’ve joined this organization.
The graphics for the iaedp-SoCal annual social event have been completed.

This will be used for for a printed postcard, an email invitation and for graphics on their website.
Momentum 4 Life changes it’s theme every year. Here are this year’s colors and graphics.

I’m working on this 8x8″, 1-fold map. It details all of the museums in Santa Barbara and the way to access them via a driving course called Museum Circle or a trolly course called Museum Mile.
I did a postcard for the organizers of the Halloween events in Isla Vista that went out to all IV residents regarding the weekend, parking, laws, etc. Some people used the postcard as a partial “mask", took pictures of themselves and posted them on facebook. Fun!
As part of my UCSB job, I did a series of banners for the Halloween festivities in Isla Vista. These were 2′x4′ banners that graced the lamp posts on Pardall Road. Here are 7 of the 24 versions.

For the Southern California chapter of the IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals) I will be working on a postcard, and email equivilent for next year’s event at Disney World’s Swan Hotel in Orlando:

INSTALLING A HUSBAND
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slowdown in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0
uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
· Romance 9.5 and
· Personal Attention 6.5,
and then installed undesirable programs such as
· NBA 5.0,
· NFL 3.0 and
· Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
· Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate.
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind,
· Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
· Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html, try to download Tears 6.2, and do not forget to install theGuilt 3.0 update.
· If those applications work as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1.
· Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend
· Cooking 3.0 and
· Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck!

For Discovery Practice Management, I did 2 ads to be placed in Gurze Magazine.

A fun aspect of this quarter page ad was that I got to digitally create grass for their residential treatment facility.
Every year, I get a calendar from Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The children who are in the hospital have art therapy through the Mark Taper - Johnny Mercer Arts Program. A statement in the calendar reads:
“Through a wide range of expression through the arts, hospitalized children give voice to their feelings, work through fears about illness, begin healing, and find pleasure in art.”
The art on the calendar is by the children. They are pictures of animals, hearts, seasonal ideas. They were created in different mediums, colored pencils, collage, acrylic, etc. I am humbled by the images, simple as they are. There is a story behind each of the pictures, sad and hopefully eventually happy.
I like looking up over my monitor and seeing the lovely pictures.
I read usability studies - what is a good user interface, what are barriers to users doing what they need to do. Jakob Nielson is the usability guru. His article this week is about Twitter and the best way to get your message across. The idea is that text is an interface. Great article.
I will be working on 2 sites (plus business cards) for custom wood-working and for an engineering contractor. Two very different looks and feel. Lots of research to do.
The Oceanaire site is more or less complete. A few more pictures need to be added in, but overall it’s done. I enjoy working with this group of professionals.
I’m working on an for the Sea Landing/Truth Aquatics sign that will be displayed on the back of the MTD busses. It will be printed by primarycolor.com
“Thank you a million times for your invaluable input on Friday. Oli & Jeanne were very impressed and grateful for your expertise and assistance. So am I.” - Catherine Viel, Writecat Communications.
I was asked to evaluate a website and explain the web hosting, domain name, SEO experience.
I’m very excited that I get to re-design Oceanarieinc.com! Oceanaire was acquired by Discovery Practice Management and DPM has been re-branding Oceanaire for several months. Stay tuned for the completed project.
I did a logo and business card for a start up company.
